Old Business

Financial report given by Pat Kenefick

                        Accepted without exception

New Business

            Fleet Burgee

After a discussion regarding the Fleet 8 Burgee designed by Karl Mielenhausen the following decisions were made and approved

.Fleet 8 boats would fly the burgee for Fleet 8 as opposed to the National 320 burgee. If parties wish to fly both they certainly can do so.

.The set up charge of $50 to have the burgees produced would come from the Fleet 8 treasury.

.Each individual boat owner would pay $20 for their flag. Each person in attendance paid their $20 charge in advance.

.Karl Mielenhausen is to send contact information for Pat Kenefick to order the burgees and to hopefully be distributed at our next meeting.

            All Catalina Fleet

It was mentioned that some Catalina owners (not 320 owners) had talked about an all Catalina fleet regardless of boat size. It was determined that this was no issue and that we should continue to follow our Fleet 8, 320 organization.

            David Norwood

It was proposed and accepted to ask David Norwood to be an Ex- Officio

Member of the Fleet 8 Club.

            Rendezvous

Spring Rendezvous – It was decided to have our first rendezvous of the season in Ocracoke the weekend of April 13 – 14 , 2007 and use the Anchorage as our dockage.

Chris Burti is to contact the Anchorage to negotiate rates and make reservations for the group.

Pamlico River people will tentatively meet Thursday evening at Indian Island and depart for Ocracoke Friday AM

Neuse River people will select their meeting place along the Neuse for Thursday evening and depart for Ocracoke Friday AM as well.

At our next planning meeting scheduled for March 10, 2007 protocol decisions will be made to coordinate weather information, cancellation policy etc.

            Rendezvous 2

Decision made to have a second rendezvous May 19, 2007 with a Raft Up in the Bay River. As we approach that time frame more details etc. will be put forth.

            Rendezvous  3

A brief discussion took place regarding a Fall rendezvous at Cape Lookout. No decision was made at this time.

Next Meeting – A meeting has been scheduled for March 10, 2007 to be held in Washington. The primary purpose of this meeting(besides eating !!) will be to set the details for our Ocracoke trip in April. Bill Walker will decide on location of the meeting and send that out to us as soon as he has locked in the meeting location.

Technical Discussion

DEXCOOL – It was brought up that Yanmar is now recommending that after systems have been flushed DEXCOOL should be used as the new coolant.

Cruising Spinnakers – Bill Walker brought up usage of the sail and the fact that he has one that has never been used. Chris Burti offered to show Bill and others the proper usage of this sail at our March meeting. Depending upon weather this will be done on Refugio.

Thank you to all who attended this meeting.  Should you know of other 320 owners who have not joined us please try to recruit them.

See you March 10 in Washington !!
