Yanmar Engine 30-Amp Fuse

Here's a thought:  My Yanmar has a 30 amp in-line fuse on the port side of the engine.  The fuse protects the circuit to the instrument panel.  If that fuse blows, you lose your instruments AND the starter activation switch.  The fuse is barely accessible and a bear to change even when sitting calmly at the dock.  If I ever needed to change that fuse in stormy weather in order to get the engine started, it would be very difficult.  In fact, in an emergency, I would hot wire around it instead.  To solve the problem, I am going to install a 30 amp breaker in an accessible spot and wire through it.  Others with this engine and set-up might want to consider this or some other alternative.
