Color Analysis
Category: Life

I don't even remember where I found out about the Max Luscher Color Test, but I have used it periodically for over twenty-five years. It has been remarkably accurate regarding my attitude about various things in life. In the 80's, I used to use it almost as a type of bible for taking my temperment temperature or 'tempermenture'.

Alter Ego1 did a blog about this test the other day, but I decided to post mine anyway, because I have this on my hard drive for a couple of weeks. I'm also directing you to a different site than she did.

Here is the test.

Luscher Color Test

About a month ago, this is what I got for my tempermenture reading: I have color-coded the results for easier comparison. Not that anyone is going to care to spend that much time trying to understand me. doh

PROBLEM UNDERLYING THE PRESENT STRESS -- Wants to be valued and respected, and seeks this from a close and peaceful association of mutual esteem.

DESIRED OBJECTIVE -- Seeks success. Wants to overcome obstacles and opposition and to make his own decisions. Pursues his objectives single-mindedly and with initiative. Does not want to feel dependent on the good will of others.

CURRENT INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR -- Conditions are such that he will not let himself become intimately involved without making mental reservations.

After my visit with family and my return home, I decided to try the test again.

PROBLEM UNDERLYING THE PRESENT STRESS -- Needs to achieve a stable and peaceful condition, enabling him to free himself of the worry that he may be prevented from achieving all the things he wants.

DESIRED OBJECTIVE -- Needs recognition. Ambitious, wants to impress and be looked up to, to be both popular and admired. Seeks to bridge the gap which he feels separates him from others.

CURRENT INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR -- Conditions are such that he will not let himself become intimately involved without making mental reservations.

One month later, as I stuggle with a busier job related schedule and I have less involvement with social activities, my test results were:

PROBLEM UNDERLYING THE PRESENT STRESS -- Needs to be valued and respected as an exceptional individual, in order to increase his self-esteem and his feeling of personal worth. Resists mediocrity and sets himself high standards.

DESIRED OBJECTIVE -- Longs for tenderness and for sensitivity of feeling into which he can blend. Responsive to anything esthetic and tasteful.

CURRENT INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR -- Feels listless, hemmed in and anxious, considers that circumstances are forcing him to restrain his desires. Wants to avoid open conflict with others and to have peace and quiet.

So from these results, there seems to be an underlying problem with my self-esteem and recognition issues. And I guess that has pretty much the way I have been since I began the test over twenty years ago. It might be easier to have a goal for change if I could at least be consistent in my desired objective. Maybe I'm more like a stone in a river bed. It takes a long time to polish me. ;-)
