HOMEMADE GUST LOCKS

Constructed to prevent control surface movement and to avoid using aircraft yoke as a tiedown, which has been suspected to be one of the reasons for aileron link damage

Gust lock parts
Constructed from 1x6 treated pine, painted orange so I won't forget them during preflight.

Gust lock eybolts
5" eybolts for rudder and elevator, 8" eybolts for ailerons, covered with shrink tubing to protect the aircraft surfaces.

Gust lock assembly
Added "Remove before flight" flags to add a further reminder.

Gust lock on aileron
Mounted on ailerons in counterweight gap.

Gust lock on elevator
Mounted on elevator in outer hinge gap over counterweight

Gust lock on rudder
Mounted on Rudder in center hinge gap
