We remember vividly when we offered this unique opportunity in 2006. It sold out completely in 3 days as folks were driving over to bring their checks! It was SO MUCH FUN being with Chef Folse!

Our group will be the studio audience while Chef John Folse entertains us during the taping of his TV series. This season is the companion to Chef Folse's "After the Hunt" cookbook. The series' focus is on the history of hunting, use of wild game, sportsmen & the sport of hunting. It will air on Louisiana Public Broadcasting this Fall and will be distributed nationwide in the Spring.

Our luncheon will be at The Little Village. There is something to be said about a restaurant that still uses the handwritten recipes from a little black book that originated in 1945. After the taping, we'll same Chef John's meal.

SOUTHERN LIVING IDEA HOUSE

We'll travel to Lake Pontchartrain's Northshore to visit one of only two 2010 Idea Houses (see page 46, June issue). This 3,589 square foot turn-of-the-century-inspired home features a two-level main house and a detached carriage house. It incorporates Creole & Craftsman-style accents such as exposed wood beams, balconies & a master suite that opens to the front porch. Classic in nature, it's a quaint coastal cottage rooted in the architectural traditions of the Deep South with tapered stucco piers rising to support an upper porch that shades the interior.

Lunch will be at Rips on the Lake Restaurant, featured in Louisiana Homes & Gardens. Owner/chef Roslyn has promised us lots of choices, ending with her Blueberry bread pudding with rum sauce. Beautiful setting overlooking Lake Pontchartrain.
