Services for Constance Anderson, 85, of Matherville, are 9:30
a.m. Thursday at Family Funeral Services, Viola. Burial is in St. John's
Cemetery, Viola. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home
with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to
Alzheimer's Association.
Mrs. Anderson died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at Good Samaritan
Nursing Center, Davenport.
She was born May 7, 1913, in Matherville, Ill., the daughter of
Henry and Bertha Maurer Maynard. She married Vernon Anderson June 15,
1940, in Aledo. He died in 1984.
She helped her sister and brother-in-law at Sid's Royal Blue
Grocery Store in Viola for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Matherville.
She and her husband enjoyed traveling and had visited all 50
states. Following their retirement they lived and traveled in Europe for a year
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jack
Tumbleson, Rock Island; a son, Greg Anderson, Rock Island; a grandson,
Eric Tumbleson; and sisters, Louise Snell, Viola, and Irene Sweeney, Monmouth.
