Services for Emery V. Ayers, 83, New Boston, are 10:30 a.m.
Friday at Fippinger, Aledo. Burial is in Viola Cemetery. Visitation is 4
to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 21, 1916, in Mercer County to Emmett and Mary
Cook Ayers. He married Lulu Murphy June 20, 1936, in Aledo. He owned a
construction company in New Boston.
Surviving are his wife; son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and
Terry Ayers, New Boston; daughter, Sharon Thompson, Oquawka; four
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
