Sadie Baker
Mrs. Sadie Baker, 98, of Aledo, formerly of Preemption and
Edgington, died Friday, March 28, 1986 at the mercer County Nursing
Home, Aledo. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the
Reiser-Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. The Rev. Kent W. Trimble, pastor of
the Preemption United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Peniel
Cemetery, Joy.
Memorials were made to the Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.
Mrs. Baker was born Dec. 16, 1887 in Bluefield, WV, the daughter
of Louis Watson and Etta Southern Thompson.
She married Maurice Abner Baker Nov. 8, 1909 in Aledo. He died
Feb. 2, 1928.
She was employed as a housekeeper for a number of area families
through the years.
She was a member of the Preemption United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Margie Mae Armbruster,
Charles City, IA, and a son, Loren V. Baker, Aledo; seven grandchildren;
22 great-grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and two
half sisters.
