Francis Barnes

  Francis J. Barnes, 84, Aledo, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1992, at Mercer County Hospital.
  Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine's Catholic church, Aledo, the Rev. Ken Przybyla officiating.
  Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Viola.
  Jinks Funeral Home, Aledo, was in charge of arrangements.
  Memorials may be made to the Francis Barnes Memorial Fund.
  He was born Oct. 3, 1908, in Alexis, the son of John and Catherine Connelly Barnes. He married Marguerite Mier Nov. 12, 1929, in Milan. She died March 5, 1960. He then married Jean Bargar in January of 1962 in Aledo.
  He was a farmer in Mercer County and was employed for five years at the Aledo Police Department, retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo.
  Survivors include his wife of Aledo; one daughter, Marilyn DeClerck of Reynolds; two sons, Jim Barnes of Sherrard and Mick Barnes of Blue Grass, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one brother, one sister, and a great-grandson.
  Pallbearers were Steve Barnes, Tim Barnes, Bill DeClerck, Tom DeClerck, Terry Brandt and Phil Panther.
