Dolores A. Baumhover Glidden
Dolores A. Baumhover, 89, of Glidden died Sunday, March 30,
2008, at Carroll Health Center.
Mass of the Christian burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday,
April 2, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden with the Rev.
Joseph Dillinger presiding. Lector will be Gene Nieland. Gift bearers
will be Steve, Rose, Bobby, Anna, Mike and John Zacker. Eucharistic
minister will be Gene Nieland. Organist will be Marcy Anderson. Soloist
and violinist will be Justin Badding.
Casket bearers will be Kevin Baumhover, Jeff Blackley, Mike
Blackley, Phil Zacker, Greg Zacker and Steve Zacker.
Burial will be in Carroll Cemetery.
Visitation starts at 2:30 p.m., a rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m.
and a Christian wake service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Dahn and
Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden.
A daughter of John and Clara (Steininger) Loneman, she was born
April 6, 1918, at Carroll, grew up here and attended Carroll High School.
She and Lawrence Zacker were married in 1935.
She and Clarence W. Baumhover were married July 19, 1956, at Omaha, Neb.
Mrs. Baumhover was a bookkeeper at H&S Foods for many years.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish and Ladies Guild,
American Legion Auxiliary and the Chat or Bid Pinochle Club. She enjoyed
bowling, playing cards, taking photos, and listening to Chicago Cubs baseball.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Simons, and her husband,
Dick, of Glidden; a son, Kenneth Baumhover, of Laurens; a
daughter-in-law, Jane Zacker, of Carroll; a son-in-law, Romayne Blackley,
of Glidden; 12 grandchildren including her caregiver, Patti; and 18
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Baumhover was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jack
Zacker; a daughter, Deanna Blackley; a grandson, Rick Simons; three
sisters: Viola Hamilton, Hilda Pietig and Agnes Hagerty; and a brother,
Clarence "Gotch" Loneman.
