Leonard L. Beckman
A funeral service for Leonard Beckman of Lake View will be at
10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 1996, at United Church of Christ in LakeView.
Mr. Beckman, 77, died Monday, Nov. 18, 1996, at Loring Hospital in Sac City.
The Rev. Steve Jones will officiate the service.
Burial will be in Arcadia Cemetery with military rites conducted
by Eilert Auen Post #133 of Lake View.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1996, at
Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View.
Born May 8, 1919, in Crawford County, he was a son of Henry and
Margaret (Meyer) Beckman and attended country school.
He and Alice Martha Brockman were married March 28, 1939, at Arcadia.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Following the war, Mr. Beckman owned and operated businesses in
Ida Grove and Westside from 1945 until retiring in 1989 and sold
automobiles in Sac County.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ of Lake View and a
50-year member of the American Legion.
Survivors include three children: Larry Beckman and his wife,
Beverly, of Odebolt, Audrey Harms and her husband, Doug, of Lake View,
and Allen Beckman and his wife, Pam, of Odebolt; nine grandchildren; and
eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and six sisters.
