Fern Beyer services held
Fern E. Beyer, 67, of Montezuma, formerly of the Grinnell
area, died at her home Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the
Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma, with the Rev. Glen Hulsebus
officiating. Pallbearers were Rick Linn, Gary Beyer, Chuck Wiley, Frank
Heim, Kenny Beyer and Jim Willemsen. Burial was in Pleasant Township
Cemetery, Ewart.
The daughter of John O. and Agnes Larson Wiley, she was born Nov.
29, 1917 near Grinnell. On Dec 17, 1941, she was married to Richard
Beyer. The couple farmed near Taintor, Searsboro and Grinnell before
moving to a farm near Ewart in 1959. Following her husband's death in
1973, Mrs. Beyer moved to Montezuma.
She was a member of the Ewart Presbyterian Church, the Ewart
United Presbyterian Women and the Country Side Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Stout of Cedar Rapids; one
grandson, three brothers, Lyle Wiley of Grinnell, Russell Wiley of
Montezuma and Wayne Wiley of Grinnell; one sister, Lillian LeVake of
Rochester, Minn.; one half-brother, Garland Wiley of New Sharon; and one
half-sister, Doris Hotchkin of Grinnell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ewart Presbyterian
Church or the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella. |
