Bernard Edwin Blaine, 95 of Independence, MO passed away January
9, 2008. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00am, Saturday, January 12,
2008 at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO
followed by a prayer service at 11:00am. Interment will be at Forest
Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities
of KC and St. Joseph, 301 E. Armour Blvd. Suite 620, Kansas City, MO
64111. Bernard was born January 14, 1912 in Liberty, MO to Lee and
Louella (Hall) Blaine, the youngest of eight children. He worked for
Benedix as an aircraft engineer for many years and was a longtime member
of the Knights of Columbus. Bernard was recently preceded in death by
his wife of 67 years, Esther Wheelan Blaine, on October 17, 2007. Also,
he was preceded in death by his seven siblings, Cecil, Frances, Marshal,
Thomas, Ruby, Edwina and Lester. Survivors include his children, Roberta
Wiederholt; Lee Blaine and wife April; John Blaine; Diana Boll and
husband, Elmer; Karen Blaine; and Rita Stringberg; a niece Patsy
Bouckout; nephew, Timothy Cooley; a brother in-law, Mike Wheelan and
wife Donna; sisters in-law, Roberta Clark and Maxine Wheelan; and
grandchildren, Tina (Blaine) Stringberg and six others; and seven great-
