Esther Wheelan Blaine, 92, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away
October 17, 2007. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Monday,
October 22, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Church, 75th and Main St., Kansas
City, Mo. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will
be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to
Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph, 301 E. Armour Road, Kansas
City, MO 64111.
Esther was born September 5, 1915, in Washington, Iowa. She was
an active member of St. Elizabeth Church since 1955 and a longtime
member of the Society of Tole and Decorative Painting. Esther was
preceded in death by a brother, Donald Wheelan. Survivors include her
husband, Bernard E. Blaine; children, Roberta Wiederholt, Lee Blaine and
wife April, John Blaine, Diana Boll and husband Elmer, Karen Blaine and
Rita Stringberg; a brother, Mike Wheelan and wife Donna; a sister,
Roberta Clark; sister-in-law, Maxine Wheelan; seven grandchildren and
