Guy Boyles, 71, Perryton Farmer, Dies
Guy F. Boyles, 71, Perryton township farmer for many years and
a life long resident of Mercer county, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, April
5, 1953, in St. Anthony's hospital, Rock island, where he had been a
patient since March 27. He had been in ill health for the past month.
The rosary was recited at the family residence east of Perryton church
Tuesday. Funeral mass was held at St. Anthony's Catholic church,
Matherville at 9 p. m. Wednesday. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Mr. Boyles was born Aug. 16, 1881, in Perryton township, a son of
the late Wallace and Lydia Boyles. He received his education in Mercer
county schools. He married Eliza Agnes Lucas Jan. 15, 1908 in Keithsburg.
He was a member of St. Anthony's church, Matherville.
Surviving are the widow; two sons, Francis and Paul, both of
Reynolds; a daughter, Miss Helen Boyles, Rock Island; six grandchildren,
a brother, Cicero Boyles, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Eberhart, both of
Reynolds, and two nieces.
His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
