Mrs. John J. (Emilia) Broich
Willey - Mrs. John J. (Emilia) Broich, 77, of Willey, died
Tuesday, January 25, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. She
had been in failing health for several months.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m.
Thursday, January 27, at St. Mary church in Willey with the Rev. Peter
Fransco as celebrant. Bryan Heithoff, a grandson, will be lector; Sharon
Snyder, Michelle Broich and Lori Broich, grandchildren, will be
gift-bearers and grandchildren Wayne Scott and Jim Heithoff will be
mass-servers. Serving as casketbearers will be grandsons Mike Broich,
Allen Broich, Richard Broich, Bryan Langel, Jeff Klocke and David Broich.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2
p.m. Wednesday. Rosaries will be recited at the funeral home at 3 p.m.
and 8 p.m. by the parish and a scriptural prayer service will be
conducted at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Broich is survived by her husband John, Carroll; nine
children: Robert, Gray; Jerome, Roselle; Thomas, Carroll; Clayton,
Carroll; Mrs. Dale (Marilyn) Snyder, Breda; Mrs. Vernon (Delores) Langel,
Omaha: Mrs. Ronald (Joleen) Klocke, Coon Rapids; Mrs. Denis (Laurel
Jean) Heithoff, Willey, and John Broich, Carroll; 39 grandchildren and
11 great-grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Clara Vogt, Carroll and a
sister-in-law Mrs. Rose Neppel, Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Marvin, two
grandchildren: Mike Snyder and Nancy Klocke; three brothers: Jacob Neppl
Jr., Maximilian and Herman Neppl, and six sisters: Mary (Sister Honoria),
Mrs. George (Frances) Schultes, Mrs. Anton (Bertha) Venteicher, Mrs.
John (Cecilia) Berger, Mrs. Bernard (Anna) Pletchette and Mrs. George
(Louise) Arndorfer.
Mrs. Broich was born June 29, 1905, at Willey, a daughter of
Jacob and Mary Kraus Neppl Sr. She spent her early years in the Willey
area and attended St. Mary school. On October 21, 1924, she was married
to John J. Broich at St. Mary church in Willey by the Rev. Msgr. M. A.
Schemel. After their marriage, they farmed in the Willey area until 1959
when they retired and moved into Willey. They celebrated their golden
wedding anniversary in October of 1974. She was a member of St. Mary
church and the Ladies Guild.
