| Leo G. Bruty Dies This Morning In Iowa City Hospital
Leo G. Bruty, 61, of Washington died at 7:30 this morning,
Feb. 24, 1958, at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City where he had been a
patient since Jan. 2.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in
the St. James Church with the Rev. T. J. Lew in charge. The body will be
taken from Sherman's Funeral Home to the residence at 720 North Marion
Ave. late Tuesday morning where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Bruty was born Dec. 18, 1896 in Ainsworth, the son of Francis
X. and Jane Florence (Swift) Bruty. He was a graduate of the St. James School here.
Mr. Bruty, a carpenter had lived in Washington County all his
life. He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church here and a
veteran of World War I.
Survivors include three brothers, Francis, William and Walter,
all of Washington; five sisters, Kathleen Bruty of Vinton, Mrs. Joe
Hines of Washington, Sister Mary St. Lucille of Los Angeles, Calif.,
Mrs. Alex Gevock of Washington, Mrs. Walter Schoenfelder of Oakdale; and
a number of nieces and nephews.
