William Bruty Dies Here Today
William B. Bruty, 54, widely known Washington auctioneer and
farmer, died at his home on rural route two Washington today. Death was very sudden.
Funeral services will be held at St. James Catholic Church
Saturday, March 31, 1962, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Prayers for the happy repose of the soul of Mr. Bruty will be at
7 p.m. Friday in the Sherman-Eden Funeral Home. The Knights of Columbus
rosary will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
The body will be taken to the family home where friends may call
until 2 p.m. Friday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Bruty was born in Washington Nov. 24, 1907, a son of Frank
and Jane Swift Bruty. He was reared and educated here and married August
2, 1934 to Colette TeBockhorst.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters: Mrs. Ken Gilmore of
Mt. Shasta, Calif., Mrs. Frank Gebhardt of Elmhurst, Ill., Mrs. Philip
Leyden of Washington, Sue of Marycrest College; two sons: Billy and
Tommy at home; five grandchildren; five sisters: Kathleen Bruty of
Vinton, Mrs. Joe Hines and Mrs. Alex Gevock of Washington, Sister Mary
St. Lucille, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Walter Schoenfelder of Oakdale; two
brothers: Francis and Walter, both of Washington. His parents, one
brother and three infant sisters preceded him in death.
