Seaton Woman Dies Suddenly On Train
While on her way to Galesburg last Saturday morning to seek
treatment of her brother, Dr. J. M. Bohan, Mrs. Ann E. Callahan, who
lived near Seaton, was seized with acute stomach trouble and died as the
train was nearing Galesburg.
Mrs. Callahan had been ill several days and was under the care of
Dr. T. D. Coe of Keithsburg. She was making the trip to Galesburg at the
request of her brother in company with her daughter, Miss Ethel M.
Callahan and a brother, James Bohan of Keithsburg.
Mrs. Callahan was the daughter of John and Bridget Bohan. She was
born September 13, 1864 near Seaton and spent practically all of her
life not far from the same community. In 1892 she was married to William
Callahan who was killed by a lightning bolt eleven years ago.
Mrs. Callahan leaves a son, Ward, and a daughter, Mrs. Emory Howe
of Seaton and another daughter, Mrs. Frank Otto, who lives on a farm
near Seaton. Mrs. Callahan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church,
Keithsburg, where the funeral was conducted Tuesday by Rev. A. F.
Timmons of Rutland, Ill. The interment took place in St. Mary's cemetery.
