Chester Callahan Is Buried In St. Mary's Cemetery
Chester L. Callahan, 25 years of age, 1925 Marquette street,
Davenport, Iowa, a native of this city, passed away in the Mercy
Hospital in that city at seven o'clock Monday morning following a brief
illness. He had resided in Davenport for five years and was employed
there as a salesman.
The deceased was born in Keithsburg, Illinois, Nov 22, 1907, the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Callahan. He was educated in our public schools
later attending Brown's Business College in Rock Island from which he
was graduated. He was an active member of Holy Family parish, Davenport.
He is survived by the mother, Mrs. Julia Callahan; two sisters,
Grace and Nellie Callahan, both of Davenport and two brothers, Robert of
near Little York and Roy of this community. His father preceded him in
death about two years ago.
Funeral services were held at eight o'clock Wednesday morning at
the residence. The remains were then brought to this city where services
were held at the St. Mary's church, the Rev. John Fahy officiating.
Burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery.
