Mrs. Aleda Calmer
Funeral services for Mrs. Aleda A. Calmer, 97, of rural New
Windsor, were held at 1:30 Monday in the Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral
Home, Alpha. The Rev. Leland K. Jackson, vice pastor of Calvary Lutheran
Church, New Windsor, officiated and burial was in Lutheran Cemetery, New Windsor.
Mrs. Calmer died Wednesday, March 22 in Martin Luther Hospital,
Anaheim, Calif.
Aleda Rosell was born Jan. 20, 1881, in Sweden. She worked as a
seamstress after she arrived in the United States.
On Dec. 26, 1908, she was married to Clarence T. Calmer in
Galesburg. He died in 1937.
Mrs. Calmer was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bill Lilliman of Viola, Miss
Grace Calmer of Orange, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Brown of Newport
Beach, Calif.; a son, Willard, of rural New Windsor; three
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Anna Isakson, of Sweden.
She was preceded in death by two daughters.
