Mrs. Ida Chandler
Mrs. Ida Chandler died at 3:35 a.m. Saturday at the home of
her son, George, four miles east of Seaton, where she had resided the
past eight months. Death was due to complications.
The deceased was born Jan. 14, 1860 in Keithsburg, the daughter
of Frank and Minerva Catlin Glover, and was married Dec. 9, 1878, to
Seth Chandler. After their marriage the couple resided in Ohio Grove
township until 1896 when they moved to Seaton. Mr. Chandler died Sept.
3, 1924. One daughter, Mrs. Edna McIntyre, preceded her mother in death.
Surviving are two sons, Guy and George of east of Seaton; one
brother, George Glover of Monmouth; one sister, Mrs. Emma Henry of
Forbs, Kansas, who was with Mrs. Chandler when she died. Eleven
grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Chandler was a member of the Seaton Presbyterian church and
its missionary society and was a member of the Eastern Star. Until a few
months ago when her health failed she was very active in church and
Eastern Star work.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Monday from the
Presbyterian church of Seaton with Rev. T. M. Balcoff officiating.
Burial was in Norwood cemetery.
