Terry Clevenger

  Terry A. Clevenger, 63, of Alexis, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
  A celebration of her life is planned at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Alexis United Presbyterian Church. Her family plans to receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service at the church. A memorial fund is being established for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Alexis United Presbyterian Church. Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.   She was born on Dec. 5, 1944, in Monmouth. She is the daughter of Theodore Bridger and Mary Alys Hill McKnight. Terry was reared and educated in the Alexis area. She attended Alexis grade school, and graduated from Alexis High School in 1963. She then went on to attend Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Phillip Clevenger on Feb. 20, 1964, in Cedar Rapids.
  Terry was a homemaker and farm wife. She was the owner of Cardinal Convenience Store in Alexis until the time of her death. She was a member of the Alexis United Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school. She also was active with the PTO, and was active with the North Henderson Girls Softball League and the Rainbow Girls.
  Surviving Terry is her husband, Phil, Alexis; three daughters, Angie Saline and Glenn, Oneida, Ill., Traci Bertelsen and Rick, Alexis, and Tiffany Lair and Marc, Alexis. Also surviving are three sisters, Beth Hand and Charlie, Merlin, Ore., Tammy Creek, Lutz, Fla., Donna Racette, Niwot, Colo.; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
