Mrs. Hugh Colgan
Elizabeth Ann Cashman, was born at Corning, Iowa, Feb. 9, 1874
and passed away at her home in Creston, Iowa, August 30, 1966. She was
the daughter of Thomas and Hanora McCarty Cashman. She was married in
Corning, Iowa, March 17, 1896, to Hugh Colgan, who preceded her in death
in 1928. Mrs. Colgan lived in Corning until 1942, when she moved to Creston.
She is survived by seven daughters, Mary A. Colgan and Mrs. Ed
(Irene) Metz of Creston, Mrs. Elizabeth Mulcahy of Arlington, Va.,
Veronica Colgan of Anaheim, Calif., Mrs. Alice Hall of Beverly, Ohio,
Mrs. Esther Hogan of Stamford, Conn. and Mrs. Genevieve Ruef of San
Diego, Calif. and a son, Joseph M. Colgan of Des Moines. One son, Hugh
D. Colgan, was killed in action in World War II.
Mrs. Colgan was the last surviving member of her family. She was
a former member of St. Patrick Catholic church in Corning and was a
member of St. Malachy's Catholic church in Creston.
Funeral services were held September 2 at St. Malachy's Catholic
church in Creston. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery , Corning, Iowa.
