Maurice L. Conner Canton--Maurice
L. Conner, 72, of 213 Pecan died at 9:49 a.m. Saturday July 8,
1995, at the Graham Hospital emergency room.
Born Aug. 8, 1922, in Canton to Forrest and Hazel Conner, he
married Mary Lou Mack on May 17, 1947, in Viola. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Tom Conner of Oakdale, Minn.; two
daughters, Maureen Mazza of Cheshire, Conn., and Kathy Barra of Peoria;
six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Robert Conner
of Lady Lake, Fla. One brother preceded him in death.
He retired from Illinois Bell in 1962 after working 41 years. He
was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of Peoria.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton and its
Holy Name Society.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus St. George Council 3934,
Canton Country Club.
A World War II Army Air Forces veteran, he was a member of
American Legion Post 16.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at his church. The Rev.
Arthur D. Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday at Oak-Hines Funeral Home, with recitation of the rosary at 7:30
p.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to his church or the American Heart
