Etta Conway, 80, Dies; Funeral To Be Saturday
Funeral services will be held Saturday for Miss Etta Conway,
80, of Aledo, who died at about 6:55 p. m. Tuesday, March 3, 1959 in
Mercer County Hospital.
The rites will be held at 6:30 a. m. at the Crummy Funeral Home
in Viola and at 9 a. m. in St. Catherine's Catholic church, Aledo, with
Rev. Joseph O'Day, pastor of St. Elizabeth Catholic church in Thomasboro,
Ill., officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery, near
Preemption.
Friends may call at the funeral home in Viola Thursday afternoon.
The rosary will be recited at 8:30 a. m. Friday at the funeral home.
Etta Conway was born April 24, 1878, in Preemption township, a
daughter of Joseph and Susan O'Conner Conway. She has been a resident of
Aledo since March, 1922. She is a member of St. Catherine's church and
its altar and rosary society.
Survivors include four nephews, Leo Horan of Buffalo, Mont.,
Martin Horan of Matherville, Charles McManus of Reynolds, and Vernon
O'Day of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and a number of great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, and
three sisters.
