Funeral Held for Mabel Conway, 81, Aledo Resident

  Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Crummy Funeral Home, Reynolds, and at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo, for Miss Mabel M. Conway, 81, of 309 N. College Ave., Aledo. She died Thursday morning in the Mercer County Hospital where she had been a patient since Sept. 11.
  The Rev. C. M. Meyer, pastor of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, officiated at the services. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, south of Reynolds.
  Miss Conway was born March 7, 1885, near Reynolds, a daughter of Thomas and Ellen Kehoe Conway. She received her elementary education in the Fair Play Grade School, Preemption township, and was graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy, Davenport.
  She never married.
  She was a member of St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society, the Aledo Garden Club and the Aledo Columbian Club.
  Surviving are a brother, Charles J. Conway, Route 4, Aledo, and three nephews and two nieces.
  She was preceded in death by her parents.

  Those from a distance who attended Mabel Conway's funeral, Saturday afternoon were: Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Corrigan of Sparta, N. J., Attorney William I. Conway and two daughters, Oak Park, Ill., Philomena Conway, Oak Park, Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Conway and four children, Peru, Ill., Helen Keeler, Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley O'Hala, Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ayres of Shannon City, Iowa.
