Aledo--Funeral services for Sister Mary Vincent of Mercy Hospital,
Davenport, former resident of Preemption township, were held this
morning in Mercy hospital chapel. She died Friday night in the hospital.
The Rev. Thomas Feeney, Davenport, hospital chaplain, celebrated
the solemn requiem mass. The Rev. John T. Shields, Aledo, officiated as
deacon, with the Rev. Leo Sterch, Davenport, as subdeacon. The nurses'
choir and Captain William I. Conway, Washington, D.C. sang. The Rev.
Edward Smith, C. S. S. R., Davenport, preached the funeral sermon.
Pallbearers were six nephews of deceased, Captain William I.
Conway, Washington, D.C.; Charles Conway, Reynolds; Robert M. Conway,
Joliet, and Dr. Martin E. Conway, all of Aledo. Burial was in the Mercy
hospital cemetery.
