Frederick H. "Cookie" Cook
Services for Frederick H. "Cookie" Cook, 74, of 210
W. Jackson Street, Joy, were held Friday, Aug. 28, at 1:30 p.m. at
Reiser-Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. The Rev. Kenneth L. Harris of the
Westmer United Methodist Larger Parish officiating. Burial was in Aledo
Cemetery. Memorials were designated to the Fred Cook Memorial Fund. He
died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 1986 at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.
Fredrick Harry Cook was born Feb. 19, 1913 in Rock Island, the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cook. He married Mary Glasgow Smith on Aug.
30, 1966 in Camanche, IA. He was employed in construction work for 21
years through Teamsters Local No. 371, Rock Island, and had worked for
Central Engineering Co., Rock Island, and Iowa-Illinois Blacktop Co. He
was a member of Moose Lodge No. 190, Rock Island.
Survivors include the widow; daughter Kelly Finley of Joy;
step-daughter, Mary Wallace of Blue Grass, IA; 11 grandchildren; 2
great-grandchildren; sister Marlowe Combs of Davenport; and brothers
Maynard Cook of Moline and Merlin Cook of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, step-daughter,
and two brothers.
