Pleurisy and Pneumonia Take Life of Youth
Virgil Davidson, 22, of Glidden Dies This Morning
Glidden (Special) - Virgil Davidson of Glidden, 22, died of
pleurisy and pneumonia at 7:30 Saturday morning at the St. Anthony
Hospital. He was seriously ill when he was taken to the hospital two weeks ago.
The body is at the Huffman Funeral Home in Carroll, pending the
completion of funeral arrangements.
Virgil Rufus Davidson, son of Charles and Edna Davidson, was born
in Kendrick Township, Greene County, Ia., Sept. 17, 1915. With the
exception of two years, which he spent with his parents in California,
he had lived in or near Glidden all of his life. The family went to
California six years ago, returning two years later to Glidden, which
has been the family home since then.
His father died Oct. 8, 1935.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Charles Davidson, one brother,
Elby Davidson and three sisters, Mrs. Cleo Moore (Beulah), Viola and
Golda Davidson, all of Glidden.
He also leaves his grandmothers, Mrs. J. R. Davidson of Los
Angeles, Calif., who is at present in Glidden, and Mrs. M. E. Brown, who
lives north of Ralston.
