Sherrard Man Dies Monday
Hold Services For Joseph E. DeBlock, 61, Wednesday at Matherville
Joseph E. DeBlock, 66, of Sherrard, died at his home at 12:40
o'clock Monday morning, Feb. 8, 1943. He had been ill for more than six months.
He had resided in this community for 35 years and was born at
Westdorpe, Netherlands, Sept. 9, 1876. He married Virginial Wyne of
Westdorpe, Feb. 25, 1904, and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic
church, Preemption.
Survivors
Surviving are the widow; a son, Maurice of Silvis; two daughters,
Marguerite at home and Mrs. Ben DeMarlie of Reynolds; two grandsons and
two brothers, Henry of Preemption and John of Viola.
The Rosary was recited at 8:30 Tuesday night and funeral services
were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Anthony's church,
Matherville. Rev. John T. Shields officiated and burial was in Viola cemetery.

Joseph DeBlock 66, of near Sherrard, passed away at his home
on Monday, February 15. He was the brother of John DeBlock of Viola. He
is survived by his widow, a son and two daughters. Funeral services were
held from Matherville Catholic church, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment
was in the Catholic cemetery north of Viola.
