Marie M. (Mrs. Alvin) Eich, 77, of Carroll, died Saturday,
Jan. 22, 1994, at her home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian burial for Mrs. Eich will be held at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 25, 1994, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll with the Rev.
Richard Remmes officiating.
Casket bearers will be grandchildren, Jeff Eich, Greg Eich, Chad
Eich, Russell Eich, Mary Eich, Josh Pedelty, Adam Dobucki, Chris
Moliterno and Brad Moliterno. Gift bearers will be grandchildren, Brandy
Eich, Stephanie Dobucki and Ben Moliterno. Lectors will be
grandchildren, Andrea Eich, Carla Eich and Brenna Pedelty.
Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Halbur.
Friends called after 2:30 this afternoon (Monday) at Twit Funeral
Home in Carroll, where a rosary was held at 3 p.m. by the Legion of Mary
and the Catholic Daughters of America chapter in Templeton. A vigil
service will be held at 7:30 tonight followed by an 8:15 p.m. rosary at
the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 20, 1916, at Halbur, a daughter of August and
Helen (Heinrichs) Krogman, and attended St. Augustine School in Halbur.
She and Alvin Eich were married Jan. 14, 1941, at St. Augustine
Church in Halbur.
Mr. Eich passed away in 1970.
She was a volunteer worker at the New Hope Village Bargain Store
and a member of Holy Spirit Parish, the Ladles Guild, the Legion of
Mary, St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary, all of Carroll, and Court Sacred
Heart of Lima of the Catholic Daughters of America in Templeton.
Survivors include eight children and their spouses, Wayne Eich of
Halbur, Robert Eich and his wife, LaVonne, of Templeton, James Eich and
his wife, Darlene, of Carroll, Mary Dobucki and her husband, Ken, of
Springfield, Ill., Carol Moliterno and her husband, William, of
Davenport, Esther Burgess and her husband, John, of Cedar Rapids and
John Eich of Des Moines; three sisters, Evelyn Mueggenberg and her
husband, Gerd, of Breda and Hilaria Siepker of Fonda; nine brothers- and
sisters-in-law, Sister Ricarda Eich of Dubuque, Ray Eich of Halbur.
Herbert Eich of Halbur, Helen Eischeid of Halbur, Evelyn Langel of
Templeton, Lucy Irlmeier and Millie Sporrer, both of Manning, Kay
Loughran of Breda and Sally Schenkelberg and her husband, Jerry, of
Carroll; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Eich was preceded in death by her parents; her husband,
Alvin; and a brother, Ferdinand Krogman.
