Halbur - Death claimed George Eischeid, 63, of Halbur, at 5:20
Tuesday morning at St. Anthony Hospital, Carroll. He had entered the
hospital as a surgical patient July 28.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine's
Church here. The Rev. H. B. Kramer will read the requiem mass. Burial
will be in the parish cemetery.
The rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday and 8 p.m.
Wednesday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll where the body will
remain until the time of the final rites.
Mr. Eischeid lived on a farm two and one-half miles northeast of
Halbur. A son of John and Theresa Eischeid, he was born at Halbur March 8, 1891.
He was married Feb. 13, 1916, to Matilda Olbertz at St. Augustine
Church with the Rev. father Bevlmet officiating. The couple located on
the present farm home. After Mrs. Eischeid's death Oct. 11, 1942, Mr.
Eischeid continued to live there.
Seven children survive: Stanley Eischeid, Bayard; Gervase,
Guthrie Center; George Jr., Halbur; Walter, Des Moines; Mrs. Don
(Aurelia) Parr, Mrs. John (Mercedes) Schloss and Mrs. Ray (Pearl)
Wittenmeyer, Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are 28 grandchildren; three brothers, Theodore,
Lawrence and Henry Eischeid, Halbur, and two sisters, Mrs. Louis W.
Drees, Carroll, and Mrs. H. J. Heinen, Halbur.
Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
Mr. Eischeid was a member of St Augustine's Church, the Rosary
Society of the parish and Charles Carroll Council No, 780, Knights of Columbus.
