Helen C. Eischeid
Mass of the Christian burial for Helen C. Eischeid, 73, of
Halbur will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at St. Augustine Church in
Halbur with Father Paul Kelly officiating.
Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Halbur.
Mrs. Eischeid died Thursday, Feb. 16, 1995, at St. Anthony
Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Gift bearers for the Mass will be grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Twit Funeral Home in
Carroll, where rosaries will be recited at 3 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. and a
vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
She was born July 13, 1921, at Halbur, a daughter of Charles and
Anna (Reinart) Eich. She spent her lifetime in Halbur and attended St.
Augustine School.
On Nov. 27, 1941, she married George V. Eischeid at St. Augustine
Church in Halbur with the Rev. H.B. Kramer officiating. Mrs. Eischeid
was the St. Augustine School cook for 30 years.
She was a member of the St. Augustine Parish in Halbur, its
Ladles Guild and the Ehlers- Gerken American Legion Post Auxiliary.
Survivors include seven children, Diane Brant and her husband,
Duane, of Glidden, Don Eischeid and his wife, Jane, of Halbur, Shirley
Eischeid of Topeka, Kan., Vernon Eischeid and his wife, Diane, of
Manning, Randy Eischeid and his wife, DeAnn, of Halbur, Gene Eischeid
and his wife, Jacqueline, of Woodbridge, Va., and Geralyn Dopheide and
her husband, Randy, of Halbur; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild: a
brother, Ray Eich of Halbur; and six sisters, Sister Ricarda, OSF, of
Mount St. Francis in Dubuque, Evelyn Langel of Templeton, Lucy Irlmeier
of Manning, Sally Schenkelberg and her husband, Jerry, of Carroll, Kay
Loughran of Breda and Mildred Sporrer of Manning.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George, in
1969; a son, Thomas J. Eischeid in Vietnam in 1968; two brothers, Alvin
and Herbert Eich; and two sisters, Anna, in infancy, and Loretta Eich.
