Stanley Joseph Eischeid
Bayard - Stanley Joseph Eischeid, 64, of Bayard, a retired
dragline operator and farmer, died Wednesday, September 15, at
University Hospitals, Iowa, City, after an illness of about two months.
Rite of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday, September 18, at St. Patrick Catholic church in Bayard with
the Rev. Richard Bergman as celebrant. Burials will be in Highland
Township Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Bob Parr, Don, Leon,
Mark and Vernon Eischeid, and Dan Schloss.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Ohde Funeral
Home in Bayard.
Mr. Eischeid is survived by his wife Alvina, Bayard; sons James,
Bayard; Richard, Bettendorf, and Stephan, Coon Rapids; daughters:
Kathleen Arrowsmith, San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Steve (Janice) McGill,
San Bernardino, Calif.; six grandchildren: Doug, Julie, Joan and Elaine
Eischeid and Michele and Michael Mirriam; a brother, Jerry Eischeid,
Bayard; three sisters: Aurila Parr; Cedar Rapids; Mercedes Schloss,
Strawberry Point, Iowa, and Pearl Wittenmeyer, Cedar Rapids, and a
sister-in-law, Helen Eischeid, Halbur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Patricia in
infancy in 1946 and two brothers, George and Walter.
Mr. Eischeid was born in Carroll County October 16, 1917, a son
of George and Matilda Olbertz Eischeid. He attended St. Augustine school
in Halbur. On November 7, 1939, he was married to Alvina Boss at St.
Bernard church in Breda. After their marriage, they moved to the Bayard
area where he farmed. He had operated his dragline business for the past
12 years. He retired about a year ago.
