Mrs. Ora A. Elson
Mrs. William A. Elson (the former Ora Tucker) was born on
April 7, 1875 at Champaign, Ill., and passed away at the Rosary Hospital
in Corning, Ia., on Monday, May 17, 1965 at the age of 96 years, one
month and 10 days.
She spent the majority of her life in and around Corning.
Survivors include one son, John D. Sullivan of Corning, Ia.; two
brothers: Haver Tucker and Avoral Tucker of Fairview, Okla., one sister,
Addie Rose of Calif., many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was a Christian and had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior
and Lord and had read the Bible many times through.
She was very fond of children, the flowers and loved to live
out-of-doors.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 20 at 1:30 p.m., from
the Roland Funeral Home in Corning with Rev. Brown Garlock officiating.
Music selections were "Abide With Me" and "The Old Rugged
Cross." Pallbearers were Raymond Richie, Sam McConkay, C. C.
Tucker, John Hackett, Ed Wheatley and Bill Tucker. Interment was in the
Oak Hill cemetery.
