Glidden - Thomas William Everts, 77, was found dead at his
home here about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. He had been ill with cancer for
four years, having made numerous trips to Rochester, Minn., besides
being a patient in St. Anthony Hospital at Carroll.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed, but rites will be
at the Glidden Presbyterian Church. The body is at the Huffman Funeral Home here.
Mr. Everts, who had lived in or near Glidden all his life, was
born April 25, 1880, at Glidden. His parents were David and Edith Everts.
He attended a rural school in this community, Western College at
Toledo and business school in Des Moines.
Mr. Everts was married to Madge B. Ribble of Carroll County Feb.
21, 1906. Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Alice)
Reinart; one son, Elwin Everts; four grandchildren, Wilma, Tommy and
Bobby Reinart and Glenyce Everts, and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Blinn and
Mrs. T. M. Ribble, all of Glidden with the exception of Mrs. Ribble
whose home is at Iowa City.
One brother, Joseph Everts, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Corbin,
both of Glidden, are deceased.
Mr. and Mrs. Everts farmed near Glidden before moving into town.
After his retirement from farming, Mr. Everts served as secretary of the
Farmers Mutual Insurance of Glidden until one year ago, when he
completed 14 years of duty.
He was a member of the Glidden Presbyterian Church and Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services for T. W. Everts, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the
Presbyterian Church here, with the Rev. Duane Heap officiating. Burial
will be in the family lot in Westlawn Cemetery.
The body is resting at the Huffman Funeral Home here until the
time of the final rites.
Mr. Everts, who has been ill with cancer for a long time, died at
his home here Wednesday night.
Surviving with his wife, the former Madge B. Ribble, are one
daughter, one son, four grandchildren and two sisters.
