Truman Henry Ewoldt

  Truman Henry Ewoldt, 70, died Monday, Oct. 13 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Services were held Thursday, Oct. 16 at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia. Burial was in the Arcadia Cemetery.
  Serving as honorary casketbearers were Virgil Anderson, Albert Ewoldt, Dewey Hargens, Don Hargens John F. Kroeger, Orville Kroeger, Verle Massman and Clayton Meyer. Casketbearers were Dale Ewoldt, Mark Isaacs, Kenneth Neumann, John Vetter, Gale Vinke and Gary Vinke.
  Mr. Ewoldt is survived by his children: Joan (Mrs. Alvin) Reinart of Carroll; Robert T. Ewoldt of Gray; Connie Ewoldt of Carroll; Randy Ewoldt and his wife, Kathy, of Carroll and Steven Ewoldt of Ames; two grandchildren, Shawn Ewoldt of Gray and Melissa Reinart of Carroll; one sister, Loretta Vinke of Manning; many other relatives and friends.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Amanda Asmus Ewoldt, his wife, Pearl, on June 25, 1983, and two brothers, Vertus and Gilbert Ewoldt.
  Mr. Ewoldt was born on Feb. 11, 1916 in Hayes Township in Crawford County, Iowa. He was baptized in 1916 and confirmed into the Lutheran Church in 1930. He spent his early years on a farm near Westside. He married Pearl E. Isaacs in Omaha, Neb., on June 17, 1942.
  Mr. Ewoldt entered the Army on April 7, 1945 and was discharged on Oct. 3, 1946, at which time he returned to his farm near Westside. In 1972 he retired from farming and went to work for the city of Westside, where he worked for 10 years. Since then he has worked on a farm.
  Mr. Ewoldt was a long-time member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Arcadia and was an active member of the Alfred R. Kossman American Legion Post of Westside.
  Huebner Funeral Home of Denison was in charge of funeral arrangements.
