Dennis D. Flynn, 78 dies in Knoxville
Dennis D. Flynn, 78, of Washington, died Thursday, June 19,
1975, at the V.A. Hospital, Knoxville. He had been in failing health for
several years.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. James
Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Shepherd officiating. Burial will
be in Elm Grove cemetery. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the
Sherman-Eden Funeral Home.
Mr. Flynn was born Feb. 6, 1897, in Washington County, the son of
John T. and Abigail Swift Flynn. He was reared and educated in
Washington and lived most of his life in the county. He was a member of
the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and St. James Catholic Church.
He was a retired farmer who had served with the U.S. Army in World War I.
He was the last member of his immediate family. A number of
nieces and nephews survive him.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
