Leonard Flynn dies Thursday
Leonard Flynn, 70, died Thursday, July 12, 1973, at the
Washington County Hospital. He had been a resident at Maplewood Manor
and failing in health for the past six months. He was a retired farmer
of the Washington community.
The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic
Church with the Rev. Edward Shepherd in charge. Rosary will be at
Sherman-Eden Funeral Home Sunday at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Flynn was a son of John and Abigail Swift Flynn and was born Aug. 9,
1902. He married Mary Larson who died March 2, 1947.
He was a member of St. James Church.
Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Norman (Patricia) Lechner of
Washington, Mrs. Robert (Irene) Becker of Keota, Mrs. Dan (Evonne) Merz
of Harper; two sons: Michael of Williamsburg and David of El Paso,
Texas; 19 grandchildren; one brother, Dennis of Knoxville.
One daughter preceded him in death.
