Mary (Myra) Flynn dies early Friday
Mrs. Mary Almyra (Myra) Flynn, 88, of Keota died early Friday
morning July 14, 1978, at Halcyon House, Washington, where she had been
a resident since Oct., 1969.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the United
Presbyterian Church, Keota, with the Rev. Eugene Blake in charge. Burial
will be in Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. at the Powell
Funeral Home, Keota. A memorial has been established to the Diabetes Foundation.
Mrs. Flynn was born April 19, 1890, at Aledo, Ill., the daughter
of George and Serena DeBord Taylor. She graduated from school in Aledo
and from teachers training at Champaign, Ill. She taught school prior to
her marriage to Michael M. Flynn on Feb. 3, 1917, at Davenport. They
moved to a farm near Keota from their home near Washington in December
of 1942. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the
Washington chapter of DAR.
Survivor include four sons, Fredrick (Taylor) Flynn, John,
Robert, and Richard Flynn, all of Keota; one daughter, Mrs. M.W.
(Violet) Putman of Scottsdale, Ariz., 26 grand and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 23, 1967, by a
grandson, Michael Putman, and by two brothers and one sister.
