Mary Flynn, 65, Dies Here Monday
Mary Katherine Flynn, 65, of near Washington died Monday,
October 19, 1959, at the Washington County Hospital after an illness of
eight months.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a. m. Thursday in the St.
James Church with the Rev. T. J. Lew in charge. Burial will be in the
Elm grove Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at the Sherman-Eden Funeral
Home here at 7:30 Wednesday evening.
Miss Flynn was born Sept. 22, 1894, in Washington, the daughter
of John P. and Abigail Swift Flynn. She was reared and educated in
Washington where she had spent most of her life.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and had
been employed as secretary of the board of social welfare office and
county recorder here and also a clerk in the legislative office in Des
Moines for several years.
Survivors include five brothers, William, Michael, Dennis, George
and Leonard, and a number of nieces and nephews.
