Thomas Forsyth
Oskaloosa - V. Thomas Forsyth, 80, of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday,
September 21, 2010, at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa. He was
born August 17, 1930, at Aledo, Illinois, the son of Sherman and Hattie
Castor Forsyth. He graduated from the Viola (IL) High School with the
class of 1948, and then attended the University of Colorado, and then
Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. He served his country
in the U. S. Army. On December 29, 1962, he was united in marriage to
Eleanor Mack at Aledo, Illinois. They moved to Oskaloosa in September,
1968, and Tom managed the J.I. Case dealership until 1975. He then
worked in sales for Dakon Equipment Manufacturing, and then later sales
of truck equipment based in Des Moines until 1989 when a he suffered a
stroke which forced his early retirement. He was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church, the American Legion, and Elks, and had enjoyed golfing,
and spending time with friends. | ||
