May B. (Ranney) Fredrickson
Mae B. (Ranney) Fredrickson, 82, of Monmouth, died 9:10 p.m.,
Monday, May 22, 2000 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Galesburg. Funeral
services were 2 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2000 at Hoover-Hall Memorial
Chapel in Monmouth with the Pastor Ken Muck of the Countryside Bible
Church officiating. Burial was in Belmont Cemetery. Friends called
Thursday during the day. Her family was present from noon until the time
of services on Friday.
Memorials may be given to the Warren County Library of the
Belmont Cemetery Association.
She was born Jul 21, 1917, in Henderson County, the daughter of
William and Hilma (Johnson) Ranney. She was reared and educated in the
Belmont and Seaton schools.
She married Pete Frederickson in Burlington, Iowa, on Dec. 22,
1937, and he survives.
She retired from farming in the Belmont area in 1969 and moved to
Monmouth. She was a 4-H Leader and a Sunday school teacher at the
Belmont Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, gardening and bowling.
She was a member of the Belmont United Methodist Women and the
Try-County Saddle Club.
Survivors include her husband: Pete Fredrickson of Monmouth;
three sons: Larry (Myra) Fredrickson of Monmouth; John (Marilou)
Fredrickson of Seaton and Michael (Pat) Fredrickson of Seaton; one
daughter: Darlene (Hugh) Forbes of Media; two sisters: Bertha
Fredrickson; and Bernice Shike, both of Seaton; 10 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents and one brother, Clyde Ranney, preceded her in death.
