Nels A. Fredrickson
Nels A. Fredrickson, Canton, IL, formerly of New Windsor, died
Monday, January 27, 1997, at the age of 89.
Services were held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, February 1, 1997, at
Calvary Lutheran Church in New Windsor.
Reverend William Zanton officiated.
Visitation was held at Jinks Family Funeral Services in Aledo
from 4 to 7 p.m. on January 31, 1997, and Masonic Service at 7 p.m., by
New Boston Masonic Lodge #59 A.F. & A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Calvary Lutheran
Church in New Windsor, the Alzheimers Association or any charity of the donor's choice.
Burial was at Greenmound Cemetery in Keithsburg, IL.
The son of Axel and Beda Osterberg Fredrickson, Nels A.
Fredrickson was born on July 25, 1907, in Finspong, Sweden.
He married Josephine Harrison on January 22, 1930, in Aledo. She
passed away on June 16, 1976.
He arrived in the United States with his family at the age of
three on February 2, 1910.
He was a farmer in the Mercer County area, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of the former Joy Masonic Lodge #946 A.F. &
A.M., and transferred to the New Boston Masonic Lodge #59 A.F. & A.M. in 1979.
He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in New Windsor and
the Calvary Lutheran Mens Association.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita and Everett
Sims of New Windsor and Janet and Howard Smith of Washington, IL; his
daughter, Carol Teubel of Eldridge, IA; sister, Anna Street of
Keithsburg, brothers Everett Fredrickson of Seaton and Pete Fredrickson
of Monmouth; six grand children; nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and granddaughter.
