Templeton Woman Dies Saturday; Funeral Is Today
Mrs. William Friedman, Mother of Mrs. Clarence Bengfort, Is Dead
Mrs. William Friedman, sr., mother of Mrs. Clarence Bengfort,
of Carroll, died Saturday evening at 10:45 at her home in Templeton.
Mrs. Friedman has been bedfast for the last month and suffered a
paralytic stroke two weeks ago, which was the direct cause of her death.
Margaret Eischeid was born at Rhindland, Germany, June 11, 1857,
and came to the United States with her parents when she was six months
old. Upon their arrival, they settled in LaSalle county, Ill., and came
to Iowa in 1873.
In 1875, she was united in marriage to William Friedman, at
Roselle, and they made their home in Templeton for 16 years. Mr.
Friedman preceded his wife in death four years.
The surviving children are Mrs. Nick Reinart (Catherine) of
Lindsey, Texas; Mrs. Joe Gieb (Lena) of Gainesville, Texas; Mrs. Matt
Pulte (Theresa) of Gainesville, Texas; Mrs. Louis Seyller (Mary) of
Templeton; Mrs. Henry Seyller (Anne) of Templeton; Mrs. Albert Seyller
(Elizabeth) of Templeton; Mrs. Fred Stueve (Celia) of Templeton; Mrs.
Clarence Bengfort (Margaret) of Carroll; Henry and William of Templeton
and John and Miss Clara Friedman at home.
Mrs. Friedman is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth
Smith of Arcadia and four brothers, Peter and John Eischeid of Halbur,
Martin Eischeid of Roselle and Theodore Eischeid of Oklahoma.
Mrs. Friedman was a member of the Catholic church and belonged to
the Christian Mother's sodality.
Funeral services were held this morning at 10 o'clock at Sacred
Heart church with the Rev. Father Huessmann officiating. Burial was in
the cemetery at Templeton.
