William Friedman

Templeton

William Friedman was born March 31, 1853, in Canton, O., and died January 19, 1928, at his home in Templeton, Ia. While still in his youth he came to Iowa, living first in Dubuque, later coming to Carroll county. He was married in Mt. Carmel in 1875 to Miss Margaret Eischeid. To this union 14 children were born, namely. Mrs. Nick Reinhold, of Lindsay, Tex.; Anton Friedman, who preceded his father in death, in 1908; John Friedman of Templeton; Mrs. Henry Seyller of Templeton; Mrs. Louis Seyller, Templeton; Mrs. Joe Gibb of Gainville, Tex.; Miss Elizabeth Friedman of Templeton; Mrs. Mat Pulte of Gainville, Tex.; Mrs. Fred Struve of Templeton; Henry Friedman of Templeton; Mrs. Clarence Bengford, Templeton; Miss Clara Friedman and William Friedman of Templeton, and Peter Friedman who died in infancy. Shortly after their marriage they moved to a farm about one-half mile southeast of Templeton, where they resided until about ten years ago when his health began to fail, and moved to town into the present home. Mr. Friedman was bed-fast the past few years with paralysis. He was a staunch member of the Catholic faith and died well fortified with the last rites of the church. The funeral was held from Sacred Heart church Saturday at 9:30 a. m. The pallbearers were John Bierl, Louis P. Gerken, Henry Rielander, John Berger and John J. Schwaller. He leaves to mourn his death his bereaved wife and children, also one brother, Peter Friedman of Roselle; four sisters, Mrs. Mat Reinhart and Mrs. Susie Reinhart, both of Halbur; Mrs. Lena Reinhart of Curray, Minn., and Mrs. Elizabeth Goetzinger of Templeton, and other relatives and friends who croweded the church almost to capacity.
