Laurence A. Fritch
Laurence A. "Larry" Fritch, 68, of 2369 5th St.,
East Moline, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1992, at Trinity Medical Center East, Moline.
Services were at 9:30 a.m. Dec 23 at Hodgson Funeral Home Ltd.,
Rock Island, Rock Island, and at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church, Rock Island, Where he was a member.
Burial is in St. John's Cemetery, Viola.
Memorials may be made to the church.
Mr. Fritch was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Viola, the son of Frank J.
and Ruth Spicer Fritch, long time Viola residents. He married Carol Ann
Darkenwald Oct. 31, 1953, in Rock Island.
He retired in 1982 as director of the International Price Department at
Deere and Co., Moline. He spent 3 1/2 years in Germany where he
established the John Deere International Pricing Department. In earlier
years, he had been employed at the Isabelle Shop.
He was a member of Tri-City Philatelist Club; John Deere
Retirees; and was a former Boy Scout Leader.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, refinishing furniture and
interior decorating.
Survivors include the widow; daughters, Lisa Willcox and Claudia
Griffith, both of East Moline, and Ruth Ann Scott, Moline; a son, Paul
Fritch, Davenport; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Rosalia O'Grady, Palo
Alto, CA and Dorothea Willits, Moline; and brothers, Paul Fritch,
Colorado, CA, and Eugene Fritch, Denver, CO and several nieces and nephews.
