Keithsburg Rites Conducted for Mrs. Margaret Haney, 78
Mrs. Margaret Haney, 78, of Monmouth, died Wednesday evening,
Jan. 15, 1958, at Monmouth hospital where she had been a patient about a
week. Mrs. Haney had been in failing health for several months.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock in
St. Mary's Catholic church in Keithsburg with Rev. John Schwarz
officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. The rosary was recited
Friday evening at 8 o'clock at the Stuebinger Funeral home in Keithsburg.
Mrs. Haney was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Ranney and was
born in the Belmont community, south of Seaton, on Sept. 15, 1879. Mrs.
Haney lived in the Belmont community until her marriage to Thomas Haney
in February, 1908, in Keithsburg. They lived on a farm in the Keithsburg
community for many years and later in Keithsburg. Mr. Haney died in
September, 1934.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Jasper of Davenport,
Iowa, Mrs. Russell Harney of Aledo and Mrs. C. L. Peters of Palm
Springs, Cal.; one son, Francis Haney of Oquawka; ten grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Haney was the last of a family of nine children. She had
made her home in Monmouth the past few years.
