Thomas Hanrahan
Thomas Michael Hanrahan, 65, of Moline, died Tuesday, Sept.
12, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, with a
visitation one hour prior to service time at Esterdahl Mortuary &
Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Private family graveside services
will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Family House, an
organization that houses families who are visiting their loved ones at
Peoria area medical facilities.
Tom was born June 20, 1941, in Galesburg, to Martin and Mary
Fritch Hanrahan. He was a graduate of Galesburg High School and attended
DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago. He married Louise Smith in 1966.
He later married Patricia Peplow Nov. 8, 1999, in Oahu, Hawaii.
Tom was a driver for 30 years for UPS in Galesburg, retiring in 1998.
Tom was an Army veteran, serving his tour in Europe. He was a
member of Knights of Columbus, Mississippi Valley Country Western Dance
Association, president and board member of Wildwood II Condo
Association, member of Sun City West, Ariz., Lapidary and Shuffle Board
clubs. He enjoyed traveling, doing yard work, dancing and working on
different projects that showed his handiwork.
Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Patricia, Moline;
children, Tim (Claudia) Hanrahan, Aurora, Ill., Tony Rochelle (Jodie
John), Galesburg, Angel Hanrahan-Parker, Chicago, Tami (Michael) Melchi,
Rock Island; grandchildren, Ryshika, Austin, Tommy Mando, Maggie and
Hiilani; great-granddaughter, Lulu; sister, Kathleen (Dick) Gillenwater,
Winston-Salem, N.C.; aunt, Alice Hanrahan, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; and
numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
